I don’t know how to decorate a fence for an outdoor wedding ceremony.
I actually don’t know how to decorate *anything* for an outdoor wedding.
It’s not my thang. While I own 8 (maybe 11) tiered plate holders, 5 sets of china, three punch bowls and a gazillion other little glass/china/silverplate thingies, plus dozens of vintage tablecloths in every color you can imagine, gussying up the yard is out of my comfort zone.
The bride, my lovely daughter, is freaking out right now as she reads this on her smartphone. [I’m sorry, honey. Nobody’s perfect. We’ll get it figured out and it will be beautiful.]
If anyone out there has any ideas, websites to pass along, suggestions, inspiration, etc. for my fence and my stairs, please please please share!!!!
Yes, I know I need to paint the back deck. I have ordered a power washer from amazon.com.
Do I buy 1000 yards of white tulle? Pots of pink flowers that look like Gerbera daisies (I can’t remember the name, but I saw them at the garden center last year)? The bride likes butterflies. And salmon pink. And hot pink. And white. And sparkly things.
Where the ceremony will take place:
Where the bride will enter with her father:
Where the guests will enter:
The ceremony will be small, about 20 people. And then we will go to a local restaurant for lunch and photographs and cake.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t worry mom, we will figure it out. Love you. Yes, ideas would be awesome.
I think there is a woman who lives in Hope that has a special talent just for this project. Her gardens are awesome. (She also plays a mean mandolin.) I am just betting that she can look at your photos and come up with some ideas.
I hope she’s reading this!!
Are there any rentals places that specializes in weddings close by? Isn’t Janou able to use big flower baskets from a local nursery for the wedding and then returning them? Any craft store like Michael’s or Joann’s would have an assortment of butterflies, garland, and such for weddings.
Help is on the way !!!!!
Half baskets hanging from the fence.
White tea lights.
Garlands of silk flowers from Michaels or crafty stores
lots of white candles in glass votives.
On the ground potted hydrangeas or some other tall flowers like Iris or even, Peace Lily with the white flowers (you can get silk copies of the flower to stick in the greens in case they bloom and wither before the wedding)
Full hanging baskets on those metal rods you can stick in the ground.
Don’t worry, you’ll be fine with all this creative genius coming your way.
That’s a great space, and so easily transformed into wedding party porn. Garlands/bunting/flags/balloons on the fence and handrail and a few large containers of flowers and or potted plants. And twinkle lights. It really doesn’t take much. A fun website is offbeatbride.com
