she said yes to the dress

I can show you a picture of the flip-flop rack at the bridal salon.  Why are there flip-flops at a bridal salon?  For pedicures?  Dancing?  Beach weddings?

I can show you the display of veils.  My bubble-cut Barbie didn’t have a veil for her wedding dress, so I put her petticoat on her head.  Does anyone remember what a petticoat was?

Here is one of the rejected dresses.  There were quite a few of those.  We waited for the right one to come along.

I can show you the painful satin slippers the bride-to-be was grateful to leave behind.

And I can show you the smile.

But I can’t show you the dress, though the mother-of-the-bride thinks it’s beautiful!
