out of the closet #2

I can’t remember where I bought this.  I think it was in a plastic grocery sack at the Brimfield Antique Fair and I probably intended to cut it up for the vintage Christmas stockings I used to make for the animal shelter’s annual fundraiser.  Anyone who donated $200 received one of these as a thank you.

Fortunately I never ran out of material and needed to cut this up, because now I’ve discovered it’s a 1920’s Flapper dress.  It definitely has some wear and the silk is fragile, but it’s almost 90 years old.

Too bad I have to grow 6″ and lose 40 pounds before I can wear it to Walmart.
