Last week’s storm was pretty darn impressive.

Banjo Man, Will and I couldn’t stop watching the waves as the wind started to blow. Will went down to the beach twice to move the kayaks higher and higher above the surf.

Wind gusts of 50 mph were predicted to hit at midnight and they did. It sounded like a hurricane.

The skies grew darker at sunset, but the wind didn’t stop until mid-morning the next day. Gusts of 20 mph continued off and on, but no trees went down!
We were amazed and grateful.
This has not been a hot summer. We had a couple of 90 degree days a couple of weeks ago, but this seems to be one of those cooler summers. It rained all last night, which hopefully means the fire danger has lowered.
No one minds a rainy night. Not during fire season.
Banjo Man has taken advantage of cooler nights to spend a few extra weekend nights at the cabin and fire up the wood stove to cook his breakfast in the morning. He has a new bed and extra blankets, along with an array of pots, pans and a coffee pot. This year he has a new bookcase, along with a dozen books he plans to read before October.
It’s a good life.

Those pictures are incredible!
