Notes from the show:

Six rows from the stage at Austin City Limits, that’s where I was.

Not an “old married boomers” crowd, but “thirty-somethings” Girls Night Out amidst the date-night couples.

She sang from 8:15 pm until 10:05 PM.  Without stopping.

She took requests.  And told stories.  And made us laugh and feel as if we were all her friends.

That’s a talent, too.

Her voice was better than ever.

My ticket, for those of you who have asked, was $69.00.

This song, one of my all-time favorite songs in the whole world, was the third song she sang that night.  I was ever so relieved.  And I tried very hard not to cry.
