I finally remembered to unpack my camera and put it in my purse in order to take photos from the plane. There were so many times during my three travel days where I wished my camera wasn’t packed in my carry on bag and stored in the bin above my seat. But before I stepped onto the plane in Baltimore, I made sure I had my camera.

I picked a seat by the window, in the back of the plane, so I’d have a good view. I usually do that, with or without a camera, because I love to see what we’re flying over. If Banjo Man is with me, I make him stop reading and guess where we are.

Block Island

Block Island is a popular tourist destination, known for its beaches and biking. I’ve never been there because I’m afraid I’ll get seasick on the ferry. And I can eat seafood and walk on the beach right here in my own neighborhood.

Southern Rhode Island coast.

Jamestown and Newport bridges.

The bottom island is Jamestown, once considered a haven for pirates. The top island is Aquidneck.  Take a right when you exit the bridge and you are in historic Newport , one of my favorite places in the state.

Narragansett Bay.

 Yes, there are lobsters in there.
