Someone is outside my office window sitting on five blue eggs.
I call her Princess Kate.
And I wish them both good luck with the whole birthing process.

The deer are not going to get these. Dancing Mandolin Player helped pick out these hearty plants and I am going to protect them.
There will be no Tomato Heartbreak in 2013.
Plus…I am a real gardener now because I bought this:
Banjo Man and Brother GL are laughing when they think I don’t see, but I don’t care. There will be tomatoes and they will eat them.
Do not judge us. My French Friend Janou and I have been doing this for years. We give each other the rose whenever the mood strikes us and then we laugh until the commercials are over.
This is a typical Monday night here at the lake.
We don’t usually take pictures of ourselves, but it was a less-than-exciting episode and it was obvious who was going home and there wasn’t much excitement, so we resorted to recording the evening for the blog.
Next week will be better. It’s the crazy “meet the parents” episode and no one can ever predict what the bachelors’ families will do or say. It’s always the most insane, cringe-worthy two hours of each season.
I love Monday nights.
My French Friend Janou wants to know if I am coming over to her house tonight to watch The Bachelorette.
Absolument, mon amie!
Just a few Bachelorette comments, for any of you who watch the show:
I think Brooks will win, because Des seems the most comfortable and passionate with him.
I like Chris the best, but I wish he wouldn’t write poetry.
This group of guys are not exactly manly men. They whine a lot.
Can Juan Paolo have his own show, please?
The easiest salad ever:
Sprinkled with lime juice and topped with fresh cilantro, then served with spoons.
Heaven.
Alas, this is not me. Maybe thirty years ago…or maybe not. 🙂
This beautiful woman is my niece, and she loves her uncle’s dock.
We’re glad she and her boys are here.
I didn’t have my camera during the parade–I decided I couldn’t take pictures while standing on the back of a truck and holding a violin and bow. I would regret this decision.
Luckily Retired Mountain Lady brought her camera. Here is the link to her description of the day. Just click on Retired Mountain Lady to see the photos and read about the wedding proposal in the midst of the parade. What a gorgeous scene!
(If you are reading this via email you’ll have to go to my blog and click on the link).
I’ll post pictures of the family and the food later, after I’ve had a cup of coffee.
It started out with groceries. Banjo Man loves groceries. Look how happy he is.
We also went to Walmart, because it is so much fun to go to Walmart the day before the 4th of July. Everyone knows that, right? I didn’t take a picture, because we had ice cream in our cart. And it was a very hot day. And Banjo Man and I lost each other in the store and were supposed to meet at the ice cream aisle and that didn’t work out because there were, oh, a thousand people in the store.
On to a better experience, decorating the 4th of July parade float.
At least someone took it seriously. Mike is attaching “waves” to the float to represent the Clark Fork River.
This woman has incredible decorating skills. She came all the way from Oklahoma to hold the balls. (And why does she only have one leg? Did my awesome photography skills do a magic trick? How the heck did that happen?)
Left side. We’re making progress now…
Right side and done!!
